My Education
I received my Bachelor's Degree in History with a minor in Psychology at CSU, Northridge. I completed the Single Subject Credential Program at CSU, San Marcos, where I received a dual Single Subject Credential in Social Studies and English with an additional Subject Matter Authorization in Psychology. I am currently working on receiving my Masters in Secondary Education from CSU, San Marcos. I frequently partake in professional development opportunities, that discuss my subject matters and classroom management strategies, to increase my knowledge and access to resources that I can use in my class. |
My Traveling
I absolutely love to travel. Every summer I devote myself to one large vacation and several other small ones throughout the year. Last summer I spent over three weeks in Europe, backpacking through 5 different countries. In previous summers, I have driven cross country on a massive road trip, cruised along the coast of Alaska, and cruised through the Caribbean. I love to see historical sights and monuments, where I can take pictures, buy souvenirs, and collect brochures. I enjoy sharing my travel experiences with my students in the classroom and encourage them to travel the world in their future. |
Orange
After taking the True Colors Identity test, I discovered that my identity is best described by the color Orange. This means that I am an activator. I am often spontaneous, require a lot of freedom, and take pride in being very skilled. I often take risks, seek challenges, and am endlessly optimistic. |
Progressive
My educational philosophy lies within progressivism. As an educator I focus on the child rather than the subject matter. The students' interests and personal growth are important in education. Students should have a say in what they learn and how they are learning it. |
Social
According to the Multiple Intelligence Test, my learning strength is Interpersonal/Social. I like to develop ideas and learn from others. I LOVE to talk and have strong social skills. Effective techniques of enhancing my learning include taking part in group discussions and group projects. |
